It was designed to transmit push and pull forces to a suspended load. The pivot point on these tools is low and offset to the side of the magnet for two reasons, 1 is to provide a low lever point so maximum push and pull forces can be applied and 2 is to allow the user to remove the magnet from an object with minimal force applied to the handle just past the 90° angle. Strong push and pull forces should not be applied within the caution range.
