Guiding a Load

The crane or forklift handles the weight. At the final moment of placement, a hand enters to guide, stabilise, or adjust position.

Aligning Flanges & Plates

Bolt holes rarely align on the first attempt. A hand enters to shift or hold a component while tools engage — briefly, but at exactly the wrong moment.

Not a skill gap — wrong moment of contact.

Last-Second Correction

Something is about to go wrong. The instinct is to reach in and stop it. The correction takes a fraction of a second — so does the injury.

Holding in Position

A component needs to be held while another worker acts. Without a jig or fixture, the hand becomes the positioning tool.
